Let’s dream together.

You may not know this but I was born in March so I’m a Pisces.  Pisces generally are big dreamers.  We have our head in the clouds with grand ideas about anything and everything.  My photography business used to be one of those big ole dreams with tons of ideas around it but thankfully, one year ago today, that dream became my reality when I took a giant leap of faith full of passion, excitement and a bit of fear to officially start Brittany Lauren Photography full time.

Leaving a secure job in Corporate America to follow my dream was a terrifying decision but looking back now, it was the best decision of my life.  I’m not going to lie, it hasn’t been all roses and rainbows since leaving.  Starting a photography business is hard work.  Learning how to be everything to your business is a daunting task. Over the past year I’ve become my own accountant, marketing consultant, social media guru, creative director, administrative assistant, website designer, editor, technical support and, of course, photographer.  It’s a lot of hats to wear but I love knowing the ins and outs of my business.  I want to give everything I can to my clients and my passion.

It has taken a lot of work on my part but I couldn’t have done it without so many amazing people in my life.  The support of my family and friends has meant so much.  Thank you for believing in my dreams with me.  Without you I would have never made the decision to leave the Corporate World to spread my photography wings.  Daily you encourage me, celebrate with me, pick me up when I need it, reassure me and dream right along side me.Brittany Lauren Photography

I love looking back on how much learning, growing and getting out of my comfort zone I’ve done.  I have had the opportunity to learn so much from the best in the industry from Robin Long‘s newborn workshop to the Seniorologie seat you guy’s helped me win then CreativeLive in NYC and WPPI in Vegas.  I definitely have to show some love for Leah Remillet of the Thriving Photographer and all of my new photography BFF’s I’ve made.

Like they say, it takes a village to raise a child and it takes a community of lovely people to make your dream a reality and I’m very thankful for my community of lovely people.

Here’s to another awesome year of dreaming bigger and this time in a new city.  Charlotte, NC here we come <3
