As some of you know, my very best friend and her husband are adopting a little boy from Uganda. I encourage you to check out more of their story here.  Right now, they are in the midst of fundraising and preparing their home in Charleston, South Carolina for their sweet child.  I can’t tell you how excited I am for them and I want to help as much as I can.  I may be far away in New York City but the love and respect I have for what they are doing knows no bounds. International adoption is very expensive so here’s how I would like to help with fundraising for their adoption and, of course, it involves photography!

It’s pretty obvious I LOVE photography. It brings so much joy to my life and I love passing that on to others. I have had the opportunity to work with some really amazing photographers along my journey and each one has taught me so much. In one of my very first photography classes, I learned the most important element to creating images the way I’d really like to see them, MANUAL settings!

I will be holding an Introduction to Photography Class in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Saturday, January 12, 2013. If you own a DSLR camera and want to learn how to use your manual settings, this class is for you!  Whether you want to learn to take better pictures of your children, would like to start a photography business or just want to understand your fancy camera better, you will love this class so reserve your spot today. We will have 4 hours of instruction and, at least, 2 hours of hands on shooting time on location with a very special model. I will cover manual settings, the basics of a proper exposure, focusing and basics of light. There will only be 10 spots available to keep the class small, increasing the amount of time we can spend on questions and truly understanding the fundamentals. It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have (Canon, Nikon, Olympus…), just bring your manual and I’ll show you the ropes.  It is going to be a lot of fun so you don’t want to miss it.
