It’s finally here! Jessica, of Jessica Mitchell Photography, and I have been talking and dreaming about this for a while. We wanted to create an intimate newborn workshop that brings you the ultimate newborn photography learning experience. With my business background and Jessica’s newborn skills, it seemed like the best fit to create The Business of Newborn Photography – from start to finish.

A little about me
It’s been almost 3 years since I left corporate America to follow my dream of photography. Starting in NYC and now in Charlotte, it hasn’t always been the easiest road but it’s worth it. I can now say I love what I do and have learned how to create a successful business I enjoy that works for me and my clients. Being a successful photographer is more than just knowing how to use your camera. You have to understand the business side of it which, in my opinion, was harder than learning my camera. Graduating with a Finance and Accounting degree makes it a little easier to understand what goes into making a business successful but it’s still so much more than that. Over the last 3 years, I’ve made plenty of mistakes that you don’t have to. I’ve learned many things the hard way. That’s why I’m so passionate about the business side of photography and helping other photographers develop a business that works for them without some of the hurdles I had to face. I’ll be sharing it all in this workshop!
A little about Jessica
Jessica has been in the photography business for a little over 10 years. She’s been specializing in newborns and children for the past 4 with no looking back! There is so much magic in capturing the first moments of a baby’s life. She loves the flaky skin and snuggling with those chubby newborns. As a photographer, you are given the opportunity to freeze moments in time for the family that they’ll always remember how special that time was. Everyone starts off somewhere and her goal in this workshop is to help you perfect your weaknesses in order to excel in newborn photography. Then you can feel the love and joy of capturing these timeless moments.
Details about the workshop
The Business of Newborn Photography – from start to finish – will be a 2 day work intensive workshop February 10-11, 2015 that you’re not going to want to miss. It will be held at Jessica Mitchell’s studio in Valley, Alabama with workshop hours of 8am – 5pm. There will only be 4 seats available to ensure we can give each of our attendees and their business the attention they deserve. Jessica and I will be complete open books about our businesses. No topic is off limits, seriously. We will also be customizing our teaching materials to specific items you want to learn. This isn’t a one size fits all kind of workshop. We want to know what you need for your photography and business the most!
